Dear ChattState Students,

As we approach the midpoint of the first seven weeks, I want to take a moment to discuss an important topic: strategies for academic success. Whether you’re feeling the pressure of upcoming exams or finding it challenging to balance your coursework with other commitments, remember that you’re not alone—and there are many resources and strategies available to help you thrive.

  1. 1. Time Management: Effective time management is crucial as deadlines and exams approach. Consider using a planner or digital calendar to keep track of important dates and deadlines. Break down large tasks into smaller, manageable steps, and allocate specific times in your schedule to work on them. This approach can help reduce stress and keep you organized. We also offer Time Management Workshops every Tuesday at 2pm in the Tiger Zone across from the OMN Cafe.

  2. Academic Advising: If you’re feeling unsure about your academic path or need help with course selection, our Academic Advising team is here to help. Schedule a meeting with an advisor to discuss your academic goals, review your progress, and make any necessary adjustments to your plan.

  3. Study Groups and Tutoring: Collaboration can be a powerful tool for learning. Form or join a study group with your peers to review material and discuss challenging concepts. You can book a study room in the library. Also, our tutoring services are available both online and in-person to provide support in various subjects. Don’t hesitate to seek help if you need it—our tutors are here to assist you.

  4. Campus Resources: Take advantage of the various campus resources available to you. The Kolwyck Library and Information Commons, the Andrews Reading and Writing Center, and Math Center are all excellent places to get support with your studies. Explore these resources and see how they can enhance your learning experience.

  5. Wellness and Self-Care: Maintaining your well-being is essential for academic success. Ensure you’re getting enough rest, eating well, and taking breaks when needed. Our Counseling Services are available if you need someone to talk to or need support managing stress.

  6. Communication with Faculty: Keep an open line of communication with your professors. If you’re struggling with coursework or need clarification on an assignment, don’t hesitate to reach out. Professors are there to support your learning and can provide valuable guidance.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to me. Current students can text me at 1-844-672-2163. We’re here to help you succeed!
