Family Night Drive-In Movie - Student Life Event

Student Life is hosting a Family Night Drive-In Movie event on October 15 at 7:50 p.m. (gates open at 7:00 p.m.) on Chattanooga State’s campus. The movie will be Disney Pixar’s Onward. Parking is limited and a reservation is required. Sign-up for the event on ChattSync(chattanoogastate.campuslabs.com/engage/). Log in using your Chattanooga State email address and password. For more information or if you have questions, contact Dedric Maffett at dedric.maffett@chattanoogastate.edu.

Students must register via JOBlink (bit.ly/csjoblink) to participate.

TN Promise Community Service Waived

Due to current conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and out of an abundance of caution the Tennessee Higher Education Commission/Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (THEC/TSAC) has made the decision to waive the December 1 community service requirement. A Tennessee Promise student beginning or continuing enrollment at an eligible institution for the spring 2021 term will not be required to complete and submit community service to maintain eligibility.

SOAR Student Award Winners

Congratulations to Deborah Hale, a student pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, who has been selected as the Chattanooga State Community College SOAR student winner.
Congratulations to Carter Ferguson, a student in the Industrial Electricity program, who has been named the Chattanooga State TCAT SOAR student award winner.

The next step will be to compete in a regional competition with other community college and TCAT winners. The SOAR regional competition is set for November 13. Best of luck Deborah and Carter as you prepare to compete in regions.

Hamilton County Mask Mandate Extended

Mayor Coppinger announced in a press conference earlier this week that the mask mandate for Hamilton County would be extended through November 22. As such, we will continue to require the use of a mask when on campus or at any Chattanooga State or TCAT instructional sites as detailed in the College’s Campus Pandemic Response Plan. To review the Campus Plan, visit https://chattanoogastate.edu/campus-pandemic-response-plan. The Campus Plan can also be accessed from the homepage of the College website.
