Chattanooga State strives to not only support students academically, but also in their life away from campus. The Student Support Center offers resources for those with unmet basic needs, and our staff are keenly aware of the many variables that can compromise a student's journey to the completion of required coursework and graduation. Over the years, several areas of support have been developed to address the needs of our student population. These include:

- Wellness Survey - Log into Tiger Web where you will find the Wellness Survey on the right side of your screen. Your response will go to the Student Support team, or someone from Chattanooga State's enrollment team. Our goal is contact you within 3 business days. From there, we will work together to create an individualize plan that addresses your needs.

Counseling - Doug Byrd
Doug Byrd has a Master of Arts and began working as a counselor at Chattanooga State in 1988. He provides personal, academic, career, and stress management counseling. Doug also serves as the contact person for the Academic Suspension Appeals Committee.

Supportive Services - Tammy McDonough
Tammy started at Chattanooga State as a first-generation, single parent student, in fall of 2001. Received her Associate's degree from Chattanooga State, Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from Southern Adventist University. She serves as an inspiration by reminding students that struggles are seeds by which success springs forth and there is no greater struggle than embracing the struggle for education.

Veteran Services - Renee Kennebrew
Renee is the Coordinator of Veteran Services, as well as the School Certifying Official for Chattanooga State. She is responsible for submitting enrollment information to the Veterans Administration on behalf of each veteran using educational benefits while monitoring their academic progress. She also disseminates and /or posts information on VA educational benefits, programs, and contact points.

Veteran Services - Rick Durham
Rick is an advocate for our student veterans, working as a Technical Clerk and School Certifying Official in the Veteran Services Office. He assist the Coordinator of Veteran Services. He is also responsible for submitting enrollment information to the VA on behalf of students using educational benefits while monitoring their academic progress. Rick works primarily with veteran dependents and Montgomery GI Bill (Chapters 30 & 1606) students but is available to answer questions regarding other veteran benefits.
