Dear Chattanooga State Family,
We have begun the transition from Phase 3 to a modified Phase 2 to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
I apologize for any confusion concerning this announcement about the transition to a new phase. The modified Phase 2 will be in effect from November 16 until January 8, 2021, and I hope today’s communication will offer clarification.
The biggest change in this new phase is related to campus visitors. We will now be open to the public by appointment only; this modification will help decrease the number of people on campus. While it may seem there are not many people on campus, last week we had more than 1,400 unique visitors on campus.
Thankfully, our academic leaders had the foresight this summer to offer courses this academic year that are online, virtual, and hybrid. As classes remain online, virtual, and hybrid, students will not experience any change in Phase 2.
Chattanooga State Remains Open During Modified Phase 2
Student Resources: We’re Here to Help
If you are able to work and learn from home, please do so as we make the shift to Phase 2. If you must come to campus for class, work, or teaching, you may continue to do so. Of course, you will continue to complete the COVID-19 questionnaire before coming to campus.
Please protect our community, yourself and your loved ones by continuing to wear your mask when you are on campus or out in the community. Please stay home if you feel sick. We want you to be healthy, and we need your help in keeping our campus and community healthy as well. We are resilient. We are innovative. We are united. We are ChattState.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Ashford, Ed.D.
President
