January 22nd, 2024

Dear Chattanooga State Community,

We’re excited to get started in the new year, and we’re excited to have you here!

While you’re getting into the swing of things, we wanted to let you know we have a wide range of resources available on campus to support you in achieving your goals. Whether you need assistance with writing your papers, tackling a challenging math problem, or simply adjusting to the demands of your coursework, we have a math center, reading and writing center, and tutoring services ready to help you.

We also recognize that taking on classes can sometimes bring financial stress or additional pressure to your already busy life. But rest assured, we are here for you! Make sure to check out our student resources, as they offer many ways to make your transition to college life smoother.

Our main focus is your success at ChattState.

FAFSA Changes

You may need to complete two different FAFSA Forms.

  • Students who plan to use Financial Aid (and/or scholarships and grants) for Spring/Summer 2024 will need to complete the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Students who plan to use Financial Aid (and/or scholarships and grants) for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 will need to complete the new 2024-2025 FAFSA which will be available by December 31, 2023. The new (FAFSA) will be available at StudentAid.gov.

2024-2025 FAFSA

The 2024-2025 FAFSA uses 2022 tax and income information, and each contributor to the FAFSA will need a StudentAid.gov account to participate in the application and provide consent for their tax and income information to be used. You and parents/stepparents can create your StudentAid.gov account now. Even parents/stepparents without a Social Security Number can now create an account for 2024-2025.
