Position Summary
  • Student Support Center Liaison (FWS)
Typical Duties and Responsibilities

*Greet students, faculty, staff, and guests who walk in needing assistance warmly, politely, and professionally
• Assist staff with sign-in at events and publicizing events by creating, addressing, and posting materials on campus.
• Completing special projects as assigned
• Assist with running errands on campus
• Perform administrative duties
• Assist with social media and other marketing materials.
• Help with ideas to improve events and services such as food collection days, Hunger & Homelessness

Required Qualifications

*Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to clearly explain basic processes and procedures of the Student Support Center and the Tiger Cupboard.
• Have a helpful, friendly, calming, and positive disposition; be service oriented.
• Basic Computer skills and experience with social media
• Strong organizational skills
• Maintain utmost confidentiality with all content encountered in the Student Support Center
• Be dependable, remain watchful and alert with a constant readiness to act
• Must enjoy working with others
Must be eligible for Federal Work Study

Work Experience

Prior experience working with the public/customer service Volunteer experience considered Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

Be able to work 20 hours per week, over the course of the semester; preferably 3 – 4 consecutive hours per work day. Major and/or interest in: * Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice (5 students) *Critical thinking, active listening, cooperative attitude, and culturally sensitive
* Graphic Design, Communications, Media (1 student)
*Creativity, ability to write, social media skills, and resourceful

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

*Must be able to lift boxes weighing 10 – 15 pounds, bend, stoop, climb, carrying, and stretch. *Must not have back problems. *Maintain a professional and friendly disposition at all times. *Keep cell phone on silent while at work *Be focused on the responsibilities of the job while at work.
