Use this RN application checklist as a guide for successfully completing the application process for the college and the RN program.
All application materials must be received on or before March 1 of each year.
 

Apply to ChattState

All ChattState admission requirements must be completed before attempting to apply to the Nursing program. 

1. If you are not a current student at Chattanooga State, apply online.
    
2. Choose “Credit Division” then choose “Nursing.”
    
3. Successful completion of all admission requirements entails:
   • Submitting all official transcripts, vaccination, proof of citizenship, etc.
   • Testing (if applicable)
   • Attending Orientation (if applicable)
      
4. Meet with an Advisor to develop your academic plan. All general education courses must be completed prior to entering the Nursing program. Points are awarded for completed courses in the selection process.
5. Attend a Nursing Information Session (session not required, but strongly recommended)
    

Transfer Student

Start the Chattanooga State admission process early. Even though in progress, include transcripts that you are presently taking. As soon as final grades are posted, have your transcript sent immediately to Chattanooga State Admission’s Office to be evaluated. This way you can be fully admitted by program deadline date.

Apply to the Nursing Program

To be included in Nursing program applicant pool:

• Must be fully admitted to college by program deadline date
• Must maintain a “C” or better in all Nursing courses
• Must have Nursing GPA of 2.5 or greater
• Must be in Good Standing with Chattanooga State
• Minimum overall college GPA of at least 2.0

Remember: The point calculation includes Fall courses completed at the time of the application deadline. Therefore, if you do not attend Chattanooga State, immediately after your Fall grades are posted, send your final transcript to the Chattanooga State Admission Office so they can be evaluated before the Nursing program's application deadline date.
 

Create an online Nursing Program Application and upload the following: 

• Copy of ATI TEAS Results that you want to use in your point calculation. (Visit the ATI TEAS page for additional info.)
• Copy of your Point Summary calculations.
   

Submit Nursing Program Application (& Required Materials)

Once the admission process is complete a Tiger ID and password will be sent to you. Use this to log into the Nursing application system.
