Our Partners
The Engineering Technology Division at Chattanooga State and WACKER POLYSILICON North America have partnered to develop programs of study that began Summer 2011. Our goal is to produce the best trained technicians in the chemical industry through a unique and rigorous educational collaborative. Graduates will receive an A.A.S. in Engineering Technology or an embedded certificate in other technical areas of emphasis.
WACKER INSTITUTE Programs
The partnership between Chattanooga State and Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations merges the world of higher education with the realities and demands of the workforce. Selected by the automotive company to manage its training center known as the Volkswagen Academy, Chattanooga State has collaborated with Volkswagen to design and implement educational programs that are specific and germane to the technologically-rich Volkswagen production environment.
VW Programs
The Tennessee Building & Construction Institute is an educational and training partnership with a multitude of construction industry representatives. The Institute brings to a central location educational programs to prepare the workers so critically needed by the local and regional construction industry. The purpose of the institute is to provide multiple avenues of training and education that will ensure the greater Chattanooga economic region has the best-prepared and best-trained construction workforce in the Southeast. We will accomplish this through an intense focus on quality training and education along with strong partnerships with local construction industry leaders.

Nuclear Power Engineering Technology and Radiation Protection are two programs specifically designed to meet the needs of the nuclear power industry. Chattanooga State and the Tennessee Valley Authority have partnered to ensure that graduates from these programs will have the skills and competencies necessary for entry into the nuclear power industry. The educational experience is accomplished through classroom instruction, laboratory exercises, observations at nuclear facilities, and student mentoring. Students who meet eligibility requirements may also have the unique opportunity to intern at TVA during the course of their studies.
TVA Programs
The Erlanger Health System was extremely generous in its contribution to Chattanooga State's "We Have the Fever" campaign, which raised funds to build and equip the Health Science Center. In appreciation of Erlanger's gift, both the registered nursing and practical nursing programs were renamed, the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing at Chattanooga State and the Baroness Erlanger School of Practical Nursing at Chattanooga State.
