Chattanooga State Names Brad McCormick as Vice President for Technology

August 2, 2023, Chattanooga, TN—Chattanooga State is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad McCormick as the Vice President for Technology. Dr. Rebecca Ashford, the College President, expressed confidence in Brad's abilities and leadership.

"Brad is a proven leader at Chattanooga State with a strong history of implementing technology to provide excellent service to students. His strong, determined leadership in the aftermath of our recent cyber incident proved that he was the best person to lead our Technology division into the future," stated Dr. Ashford.

Graduate of the first class of ETSU's Graduate Certificate in Community College Leadership, Brad has completed coursework for EdD in Postsecondary and Private Sector Leadership. He has been a dedicated member of Chattanooga State since 2008, serving in various roles, including Director of Student Affairs Information Technology and Data Analysis, Director of Admissions and Records, and Assistant Vice President. He has shown a deep understanding of technology's role in the college's success.

As interim VP for Technology, Brad made strides in enhancing technological support for the college community. Notably, he created a Client Services team to provide front-facing support to students, faculty, and staff. He also partnered with Student Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Planning to establish the Functional Solutions Team, addressing pressing needs effectively.

"I am honored and excited to take on the role of Vice President for Technology at Chattanooga State,” stated Mr. McCormick. “My focus will be on leveraging technology to enhance the student experience, support our faculty and staff, and help the college fulfill its vision and strategic priorities."
