Masks Required in All Campus Buildings

Dear Chattanooga State Family,

As the number of cases of COVID-19 infections rises in our community, the number of cases at the College is rising as well. Last week, there were 28 known positive cases of COVID among students and an increasing number of direct contacts with those individuals.

Effective Tuesday, August 24, Chattanooga State will implement a mask requirement, regardless of vaccination status, at all of its locations. This requirement will be in effect until October 1, 2021. At that time, we will re-evaluate the requirement. This requirement will allow us to continue in-person classes and will help our campus community to remain healthy and able to attend class.

With this requirement, masks must be worn indoors. However, masks are not required when participating in fitness activities or while eating or drinking.  Employees working alone in private offices are not required to wear a mask.

Thank you for your efforts to protect our community.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Ashford, Ed.D.
President
