January 7, 2021

Dear Chattanooga State Family,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday break. After the challenges of the last year, I am ready for a fresh start and the promise that the New Year brings.

We have all weathered a number of challenges in the last year. We have dealt with worries about health and safety, jobs and income, family concerns, and even concerns about the future of our society. It is my hope that we move into 2021 with love and respect for one another. The last year has taught me how truly connected we all are, even if we are physically distant from one another. We truly need one another.

I thank you for being part of the Chattanooga State family.

Tiger Cupboard Update

If you are able to work and learn from home, please do so. If you must come to campus for class, work, or teaching, you may continue to do so. Be sure to complete the COVID-19 questionnaire before coming to campus.

The COVID-19 virus continues to spread rapidly in our community. Please protect yourself, your loved ones, and our community by wearing a mask when you are on campus or out in public. Please stay home if you feel sick. We want you to be healthy, and we need your help in keeping our campus and community healthy as well.

We are resilient. We are innovative. We are united. We are ChattState.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Ashford, Ed.D.

COVID Vaccination Eligibility

With vaccinations currently rolling out, check Tennessee’s Eligibility site to see which phase you are in and when you will qualify to receive the vaccine.

Hamilton County’s Use of Campus for Vaccination Traffic

The Hamilton County Health Department has made the Tennessee Riverpark next to our campus its main location for administering COVID-19 vaccines. Chattanooga State, in conjunction with Hamilton County Emergency Services, will once again be bringing traffic for the vaccinations onto our campus on January 12.  This traffic will be routed back along the river and directed back out the main entrance.  We estimate this will help keep some 700 to 800 vehicles off of Amnicola Highway. The traffic is expected to be heavy from 5AM–4PM.

Continuation of Modified Phase 2

The College will extend the current Modified Phase 2 until further notice.
