CARES Act Funding Update
The U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) issued new CARES emergency grant aid guidance late last week. Based on the new guidance, FAFSA submission is now required as a means for identifying students who are eligible for emergency grant aid. To receive disbursements of federal aid through the CARES program, Chattanooga State students must have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), have been enrolled for the spring 2020 semester, have been enrolled in at least one face-to-face class, and be eligible for Title IV financial aid.
If you have not yet submitted a FAFSA, you can do so now using either the 2019-2020 or the 2020-2021 FAFSA. Complete the FAFSA athttps://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa using Chattanooga State code 003998.
Employee Annual Leave Update
For employees who were impacted by the recent storms and were unable to work, you will NOT be required to file for annual leave for the time that you were unable to work.
Reminders
All past communications can be accessed from the College’s COVID-19 information page.
We are continuing to develop our “return to campus” plan, and I hope to be able to share that with you very soon. I anticipate a phased-in plan that will gradually increase the number of people who are physically on campus. As much as we all want to return to normal life as quickly as possible, we will do our best to provide the safest learning and working environment for our students, faculty, and staff. We care so much about each and every one of you. You will get through this. We will get through this.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Ashford, Ed.D.
President
