TCAT Offers New Mental Health Technician Certificate

Chattanooga State is offering a new Mental Health Technician certificate program starting in the 2020 spring semester that will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., totaling 135 clock hours. This exciting new program is offered through the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) at Chattanooga State.
The cost of the program is $493 and Tennessee residents may apply for state aid (Wilder-Naifeh or Tennessee Reconnect) to help pay the tuition and fees. Assistance with filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available during November and December prior to registering for classes.
The Mental Health Technician certificate program is for those students who are interested in working as an entry-level technician in the mental health field. The class uses lectures, labs, and clinical observations to help students learn and gain experience in the field.
