Cindy Solfest-Wallis is a member of the music faculty at Lee University, Chattanooga State Community College, and Covenant College. She has also taught at Southern Adventist University, Tennessee Temple and Cadek Conservatory of Music. As a performer, she has worked with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Choir Orchestra, Knoxville Opera and as a chamber musician in the Chattanooga area. Cindy also maintains a large private flute studio. From July of 2011 through August of 2015, she directed an informal chamber music series at the well-known Camp House in downtown Chattanooga, called Southside Casual Classics. This featured local musicians/ensembles in a casual setting where discussion of composers/pieces was encouraged. While living in Wisconsin, Cindy was on the faculty of three universities as flute instructor and resident artist, and served as principal flute with Skylight Opera Theatre and Wisconsin Wind Orchestra. She performed frequently with the Milwaukee Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, and Bel Canto Choir and Orchestra, as well as other orchestras in southeastern Wisconsin. As a member of the WWO and others, she toured Europe (the Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia) and can be heard on several recordings on the Marc Label. She was also founder and director of a chamber music school for several summers.
