Soprano-Sarah Amanda Hyberger has performed major operatic roles in the productions of Die Fledermaus, The Marriage of Figaro, The Elixir of Love, The Tender Land, Cosi fan Tutte, La Cantarina, and the mid-west premiere of Robert Nelson’s opera, A Room with a View. She was also a soloist for concert works such as J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion, Faure’s Requiem, and Handel’s Messiah. Amanda earned her BA in Music at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, her Master of Music degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Iowa. She has directed church choirs of all ages, taught K-9 general music, and coached many private vocal students. Currently at Chattanooga State, she teaches College Success for Fine Arts, ear training, and voice lessons, as well as serving as the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan’s Director, which coordinates ePortfolio development for all students.
