Music and Theatre Performances

Chattanooga State’s Fine Arts and Theatre departments will finish out the 2016 semester with two musical and two theatrical performances.

Kickoff your holiday season at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 as Chattanooga State’s Music Department presents an evening of carols and popular holiday favorites. The concert features performances by the Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, and Chattanooga State music faculty and students. Also, come and enjoy a stroll through the Sculpture Garden holiday lights display located in front of the Humanities building.

December theatrical performances will be presented on December 2 and 6. The second-year students of the Professional Actor Training Program will perform scenes from the plays of Anton Chekhov on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Then, on Dec. 6 first-year students of the Professional Actor Training Program will perform scenes from American Life on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The final musical performance for 2016 will be a Guitar Orchestra Concert on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. GuitarChattanooga presents an evening filled with ensemble works by some of Chattanooga’s finest classical guitar students. Under the direction of Dr. Michael McCallie, selections will include music by Bach, Lennon and McCartney, and favorite Holiday Carols.

All events are FREE and open to the public, and are presented at the Chattanooga State Humanities Theater. Located on the main campus, 4501 Amnicola Highway.
