Veterinary Technology - Application Checklist

All application materials must be received on or before November 1 of each year.

STEP 1: Complete Chattanooga State Community College Enrollment

  • If you are not a current student at Chattanooga State, please complete a College application online. Choose “Credit Division” then choose “Pre-Allied Health” as the planned course of study.
  • Submit all official transcripts, proof of citizenship, etc.
  • Testing (if applicable)
  • Orientation (if applicable)
  • Check your admission status
     

STEP 2: Meet With Your Academic Advisor
 


STEP 3: Veterinary Technology Admission Process​

REQUIRED

  • Must be at least 18 years old during the last semester of the program (because legal age is required to take radiographs).
  • Must maintain a “C” or better in all courses
  • Must have a minimal 2.0 GP
  • Complete the online Veterinary Technology Application.
     
  • Must have these courses completed OR must be taking these courses at the time of the application's Fall semester deadline.
    (Note: Applications are held until fall semester grades are submitted.)
    • ENG 1010 (Composition 1) 
    • BIOL 1110 (General Biology I)
    • VETT 1010 (Introduction to Veterinary Technology)
  • Have all transcripts submitted to the college by the application deadline: November 1st of each year.
    • Note: Applications may only be accepted after this deadline date if there are not enough qualified applicants to fill the class.
       

NOT required

  • TEAS Test and observation hours are NOT required.
  • Attending a Veterinary Technology information session is recommended but NOT required.
     

STEP 4: Submission of Veterinary Technology Application and Required Materials:

  • Submit the Veterinary Technology application
  • Attach the following:
    • If you have previously taken VETT 1010, the Program Director will contact you to assist you in completing the required application points worksheet. Current VETT 1010 students will do this in class during the information session.
