Tigers Achieve Classroom Success

Chattanooga, TN (June 13, 2016) --- The 2016 Chattanooga State Baseball team finished off an eventful season by recently dropping two tough games at the Region VII tournament held in Columbia, Tennessee. The 19th ranked Tigers fell to the host team, Columbia State, and then to Southwest Tennessee Community College. The team finished the year at 34-15 overall and was nationally ranked for four weeks, reaching as high as 14th nationally. The Chattanooga State Baseball program has ranked nationally nine of the last 11 years as they continue a stretch of high-level success both regionally and nationally.
The 2016 Tigers ended their academic year in the classroom with a combined 3.16 GPA overall for both the Fall and the Spring semesters. Seventeen of 25 players ended the year with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Herschel Paulk, a freshman pitcher from Guyton, GA, achieved a 4.0 overall GPA, while seven players achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher.
