October Musical Programs Announced

Chattanooga, TN (September 28, 2015) --- Kicking off the fall semester, the Chattanooga State Fine Arts Department will offer three musical programs consisting of a faculty recital, a popular Irish band, and a Mozart choral performance during the month of October. All performances will be held in the C.C. Bond Humanities Theatre on Chattanooga State’s main campus. Programs are free and open to the public.

This Thursday, October 1, at 7:30 p.m., the Chattanooga State music faculty will present an evening of classical, Broadway, and Jazz favorites. Selections will be performed by faculty members from piano, string, woodwind, brass, percussion, and voice areas.

The award-winning Brock McGuire Band, an instrumental quartet, will perform a repertoire emphasizing mostly Irish music with a mix of impressive arrangements of Old Timey, Bluegrass, French-Canadian, and other Celtic traditions this coming Sunday, October 4, at 2:30 p.m.

The Chattanooga State Choir will present Mozart’s Coronation Mass on Friday, October 16, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The concert also features instrumental and vocal performances by members of the Chattanooga State music faculty and the Chattanooga Symphony. Darrin Hassevoort conducts the concert.
