Chattanooga, TN --- “We make our students a priority and serve them consistently each year,” shares Julie Bennett, site director for ChattState’s Kimball Site. Employing that strategy, the Kimball Site enjoyed double-digit enrollment increases during the fall 2013 semester. Figures show that full-time enrollment, known as FTE, rose 17.79 percent from 164 students during fall 2012 to 193 students in 2013. Overall headcount went from 356 in 2012 to 384 in 2013. On the vocational side that includes cosmetology and welding classes, the figure jumped 29.41 percent; 34 students in fall 2012 to 44 student in 2013. The site actually serves more than 500 students each semester according to Ms. Bennett.
Still elated over the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the new Kimball Site located on the old Holland Farm site, Ms. Bennett said, “We are excited about the potential growth when we move to the new site for the fall 2014 semester.”
During a recent Kimball Site advisory board meeting highlighting the fall 2013 semester, Ms. Bennett shared that students participated in a Back to School Blast, held a blood drive on site twice, collected a truckload of canned goods for the Marion County Food Bank and enjoyed a Student Life sponsored Oktoberfest activity.
Registration for Spring 2014 classes is ongoing. Says Ms. Bennett, “The Kimball staff strives to assist all students in our service area. We serve all Chattanooga State students – even if they are not attending the Kimball site.” For more information, visit www.chattanoogastate.edu or call 423.837.1327.
