Chattanooga, TN --- The Dunlap based Cooperative Response Center (CRC) recently donated seven Dell servers to Chattanooga State Community College’s network management degree program. Dave Rutherford of CRC delivered the servers to the main campus where Ed Southeard, Chattanooga State business and information technologies department head, and Randy Ricketson, networking information systems instructor, gratefully accepted them.
The Dell servers, ranging from the Poweredge 1850 to the Poweredge 2850, are a great addition to our Network Management program. This equipment will provide our students with critical hands-on skills such as configuring RAID and hardware maintenance, as well as general operating system and services setup and configuration,” said Ricketson. “Students will also be able to arrange advanced server configurations such as load balancing and failover clusters. All of these are critical skills needed by area employers.
CRC’s website says the company “is a nationwide, cooperatively owned and operated, 24/7 contact center, central station, and software provider. Founded in 1992, CRC has steadily increased in the size and scope of its operation. CRC provides services primarily to rural electric utilities, including after-hours dispatch, round-the-clock customer care, and monitoring of security and medical alarms.” In addition to Dunlap, TN, there are offices in Austin, MN and Abilene, TX.
