Chattanooga, TN --- Chattanooga State Community College is pleased to announce the grand opening of the all-new Donald F. Andrews College Writing Center and Photography Gallery.  The public is invited to the grand opening and dedication of the new center on August 20, 2 - 4 p.m., on the second floor of the Instructional Materials Center in room 201 on the main campus.

Named for the late Dr. Donald F. Andrews, long-time member and Dean of the Humanities and Fine Arts Division, the Center will offer a unique combination of form and function. Not only will the Center offer high-quality tutoring assistance for writers across all disciplines, but it will also house dedicated gallery space for the annual exhibition of work by students in the Fine Arts Department’s photography program.

The writing center’s new director, Ann Nicodemi, has emphasized her desire “to create an accessible, active, and collaborative writing center community, which seeks to fulfill the College’s mission of ‘transforming the lives of individuals.’”  The gallery’s curator, Professor Mark Wood, adds the following: “We are already at work on next year’s installment and look forward to making this the premier gallery for photographic art in our region.”
