James S. Gibson

About Artist

As a retired sculpture professor, my continued development of a personal shape and color vocabulary is affected by my interest in the human figure and mythology.
The key to the existence of aesthetic content in my work is the uniqueness and idiosyncrasies that are demonstrated by me in the selection and use of materials, art elements, and tools to formulate my ideas.
My work is abstract and is materialized in either welded metal or carved/constructed wood, or a combination of both.

The size of my work is determined by my ideas and materials, and can fluctuate from small in scale to 10 or 12 feet.
