Turning a Passion Into a Career

Samantha Durkan said she was “kinda lost on what my career path should be.” She began looking into ChattState majors saying, “it was like a light bulb went off … all my life I had been obsessed with movies and TV and it was then I realized I could turn that passion into a career path at ChattState with a Media Technologies degree.”
Making a scene look like it would in real life is what Samantha’s job includes as a Background Production Assistant. After interning on the set of “42,” Hired full-time, Samantha has since worked on “American Idol,” “Walking Dead,” “Resurrection,” “Red Band Society,” “Fast and Furious 7,” and “Insurgent.”
After finding her passion, she says that, “My experience with the Media Technologies program was everything I wanted it to be and more. All the teachers gave me so many opportunities that I never thought I would get out of a community college.”
