Tim Gray to receive Hats Off to Excellence Award

Tim Gray is a student at Chattanooga State set to graduate this May. He will receive his Associate Degree in Digital Media Design and Production with a 3.9 GPA. Tim is also a member of International Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa. He worked full time in construction while pursuing his degree at night.

Tim recently landed a job in the media field at WTVC Newschannel 9 in Chattanooga. While attending Chattanooga State, he was a staff writer for the school newspaper- The Communicator. Tim had his own radio show- Shades of Gray- on Chattanooga State’s internet radio station- WAWL and also interned at WRXR Rock 105 on the Billy and Boner Show. He helped produce several video and short film projects with the Media Club as well. Tim is also a drummer and musician and has performed and recorded throughout the Southeast for more than 20 years.
