Chattanooga, TN (August 7, 2016) --- The Tennessee Building and Construction Institute (TNBCI) at Chattanooga State recently hosted a luncheon to educate high school guidance counselors about exciting career opportunities in the construction industry, as well as explain the types of training and programs that can prepare high school students for those careers.

“It was a good venue to create a dialogue between the industry and the high schools and each group learned a lot from each other,” stated Caitlin Moffitt, associate professor, Civil/Construction Engineering Technology.

Dr. Jared Bingham, an educational consultant involved with Chattanooga 2.0, the Public Education Foundation, and the Chamber of Commerce was the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Discussion centered on the elements of the TNBCI that support the academic and career preparedness elements of Chattanooga 2.0.
