Veteran Affairs Telling Project

The Chattanooga State Community College Veteran Services Center and the Theatre Department have partnered to present “Telling: Chattanooga,” scheduled for two consecutive weekends September 23, 24, 25 and September 30, October 1, 2. Performances on Fridays and Saturdays begin at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 p.m. People with hearing loss may attend the captioned performance on September 30.

As a national performing arts non-profit, “The Telling Project” employs theater to deepen the understanding of military and veterans’ experiences. Chattanooga State extended an invitation to student and community veterans to participate in the project earlier this year. Currently, five veterans and the spouse of a veteran are rehearsing in preparation for the event.

According to Sherry Landrum, Chattanooga State Artistic Director, “Their stories are humorous, heartfelt, moving, and profound.”

All performances are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Michelle Olson, Director, Educational Outreach and Retention, at 423-697-5740, or by email at michelle.olson@chattanoogastate.edu, or visit www.thetellingproject.org.
