Chattanooga, TN --- Chattanooga State Community College welcomed the newly sanctioned Tennessee Delta Chapter organization to its student life program during Fall 2013. Founded in 1953, Tau Alpha Pi is the national honor society for engineering technology students and a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS).

Although membership is open to top-performing students in both associate degree and baccalaureate programs, Tau Alpha Pi members must be currently enrolled at Chattanooga State, be academically in the upper 25 percent of his/her class, carry a minimum 3.5 grade point average (cumulative and semester), and have carried this ranking for at least two consecutive semesters. In addition, members must be of acceptable character and demonstrate marked ability in engineering technology.

During the initiation ceremony on April 7, Tau Alpha Pi welcomed 10 new members. Charter members initiated during fall 2013 were Bryon Rogers, president; Jennifer Bergeron, vice-president; Robert Plank, David Ungate, and Christopher Coffey. Newly initiated members include Dennis Clark, Kevin Dean, David Howard, Kyle Kennedy, Rickey Pace, Jr., Chrissy Smith, Samantha Travis, Randall Walker, Matt Dillard, and Laura Whittaker.

The following members are candidates for graduation during the 40^th annual Commencement exercises on May 10: Bryon Rogers, David Ungate, Dennis Clark, Kevin Dean, David Howard, Kyle Kennedy, Rickey Pace, Jr., Samantha Travis, Randall Walker, and Laura Whittaker.
