National Signing Day is February 21

New TN Promise students for the 2019-20 school year will take part in a signing ceremony at Chattanooga State Community College on Thursday, February 21 at 11 a.m. This ceremony affirms their commitment to enroll in a technical field of their choosing. The ceremony will take place in the Automotive Bay of Building 3 in the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) located at 4501 Amnicola Hwy.
Chattanooga State Community College’s participation in the annual National Technical Letter of Intent Signing Day (NC3) is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to celebrate the dignity of work. Chattanooga State anticipates signing more than 50 high school seniors for a commitment to attend one of the College’s 25 TCAT programs.
The deadline to participate in the ceremony is 4 p.m., Friday, February 15.
Currently registered students have indicated their commitment to enroll in the technical fields of Administrative Office Professional, Aesthetics, Automotive, Barbering, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Diesel, Industrial Electronics, Industrial Electricity, Industrial Maintenance-Mechatronics, Motorcycle & Marine, Road Building Equipment Tech, and Welding.
After a welcome by Dr. Jim Barrott, Executive Vice President of Technical College, he will introduce the guest speakers: Dr. Rebecca Ashford, Chattanooga State President; Jim Coppinger, Hamilton County Mayor; Tom Griscom, TBR Regent; Christy Gillenwater, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce President & CEO; and Dr. Bryan Johnson, Hamilton County Schools Superintendent.
