Nancy Patterson Named Associate Vice President at Chattanooga State

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Chattanooga State Community College recently announced Nancy Patterson as the new associate vice president of Leadership & Fund Development. As chief development officer, Patterson serves as a member of the senior leadership team for the college and is the primary liaison with the Chattanooga State Foundation working to accelerate the impact of the Chattanooga State experience through philanthropic support.
For the past eight years she was an independent consultant working with educational institutions and nonprofit organizations on capacity building, relationship-based fundraising programs, comprehensive campaigns, leadership development, strategic planning, communications and working with volunteers.
“Nancy’s 22 years of proven fundraising achievements as well as alumni relations experience adds a new dimension to our efforts moving forward,” said Chattanooga State Foundation Board Chair Alan Cates.
College President Dr. Jim Catanzaro said “Nancy is a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly skilled professional whose leadership will be of great benefit to Chattanooga State, especially as we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary in two years.”
Patterson graduated from Red Bank High School and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she received a B.S. in Health & Human Service with a concentration in nonprofit administration. She also received a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Duquesne University.
She volunteers at her church and her children’s school, is a campaign volunteer and past board member of the Chattanooga History Center and is a current board member of WTCI-PBS, serving as chair of the Proximity1 mobile app team and a member of the executive committee.
Founded in 1965, Chattanooga State is a public community college serving more than 11,000 students from Chattanooga and Hamilton, Rhea, Sequatchie, Marion, Bledsoe and Grundy counties.
