Chattanooga State Community College is excited to announce that 13 students from the first cohort of Early College Academy at Kimball are on track to graduate this May with a high school diploma and an associate degree. A new cohort, open to rising ninth graders, is scheduled to begin fall 2021.

The Early College Academy at Kimball is a program offered in partnership with the Marion County Board of Education. This four-year cohort-based program begins during a student’s freshman year and combines a unique blend of college dual enrollment courses and high school coursework to ensure that students meet requirements for both the high school diploma and a University Parallel Associate of Arts degree.

Students take virtual college classes during their first two years of high school and then travel to the Chattanooga State Kimball site in the mornings of their junior and senior year to take college classes. These students will be able to transfer those credits to most Tennessee four-year universities.

If you have a rising ninth grader and would like to learn more about participation in the next cohort class of Early College Academy at Kimball, please join us for a virtual information session on Thursday, March 18, 2021 7 p.m. EST/ 6 p.m. CST.
