CIT Students Visit DC Blox

Chattanooga State Computer Information Technology (CIT) students recently paid an industry visit to DC Blox where they became more knowledgeable about connecting the technology gaps between academics and business.
DC BLOX is a multi-tenant data center provider in the Southeast delivering the infrastructure and connectivity essential to power today's digital businesses. Because the digital age changes the way businesses operate and deliver services, a foundational infrastructure is vital to the digital economy.
Computer Information Technology students had the opportunity to see firsthand how the data center operates. Benny Middleton, director of sales at DC Blox, provided a tour of the facility and spoke to students about valuable IT trends and as well as the booming IT startup.
Chattanooga State offers a high-quality IT education in addition to its new state-of-the-art IT labs. Available programs leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) include Programming, Networking and Cyber Defense. For students interested in furthering their education beyond the associate degree level to earn a baccalaureate degree, the CIT Department offers a Computer Science A.S. Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP) degree.
