Choral Concert Scheduled at Chattanooga State for October 23

On Saturday, October 23, Chattanooga State Community College salutes classical music during a choral extravaganza that showcases the vocal and instrumental talents of local and regional musicians.  The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Theatre, which is located on the college’s main campus at 4501 Amnicola Highway.  The event is open to the public free of charge. Performing with members of the Chattanooga Symphony are Christine Hassevoort, Dr. Amanda Hyberger, the Chattanooga State Concert Choir, and the Roane State Chorale.  Musical selections include the following:

  • Mozart’s “Alleluia” from Exsultate Jubilate featuring vocalist Christine Hassevoort, soprano;
  • Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 featuring musician Dr. Alan Nichols, piano;
  • Mozart’s “Domine Deus” from the Great C-Minor Mass featuring vocalists Christine Hassevoort, soprano and Dr. Amanda Hyberger, soprano; and
  • Gabrielle Faure’s Requiem featuring the Chattanooga State Concert Choir and the Roane State Chorale.
