The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), on this the first day of the regular softball season, has ranked Chattanooga State Community College’s Lady Tigers softball team number one.

Ranked as eleventh in the preseason NJCAA softball polls, the Lady Tigers have beaten several other top 20 pre-season teams, in addition to some teams on the current top 20 list.

Defending champions, the Yavapi College Lady Rough Riders of Prescott, AZ, are among the teams defeated by the Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers dispensed with the champs during a pre-season game in Las Vegas at the end of January.

The Lady Tigers will be in action again the weekend of March 23rd during open conference play at Southwest in Memphis, and at Dyersburg State in Dyersburg, TN.
