ChattState to Select Outstanding Non-Traditional Students for the SPIRE Honorary Society
April 10, 2017 | | Press Release
ChattState is selecting outstanding students for membership in the National Chapter of Spire, the national honorary society for adult and other non-traditional students. SPIRE recognizes the unique achievements of adults and non-traditional students enrolled in Associate Degree programs. SPIRE was created to provide non-traditional students with the same level of recognition that traditional outstanding students have always received.
Selection for membership in SPIRE represents the highest achievement of academic performance and out-of-class accomplishment a non-traditional student can attain in America’s community and junior colleges. Non-traditional students include single parents, handicapped students, students working full-time, international students, and other similar students.
To be selected into SPIRE, students must be age 25 or older, be within 12 months of graduation or have completed 33 college credit hours, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be involved in at least three campus or community activities, demonstrate leadership, persistence, and future promise, and maintain the highest ethical standards.
The ceremony for new SPIRE members will be in May. For more information about how to become a member please contact 423-697-4483 or email marsha.barker@chattanoogastate.edu
