ChattState Hosts 2018 TCCAA/NJCAA Softball & Baseball Tournament

Chattanooga State Community College will host the 2018 TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII conference tournament from May 6-11 on the main campus located at 4501 Amnicola Highway in Chattanooga. Women’s softball teams play May 6-9. Men’s baseball play begins May 6 with games through May 11, if necessary. Tournament teams from Chattanooga State, Cleveland State, Columbia State, Dyersburg State, Jackson State, Motlow State, Roane State, Southwest Tennessee, Volunteer State and Walters State will be competing for the conference championship and the right to play in the NJCAA national tournament. All are community colleges and part of the TBR system.
The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) whose mission is to promote and foster two-year college athletics.Itis divided into 24 regions of which Tennessee is Region VII. Seeds 7-10 will have a play-in game on Sunday for a spot in the tournament. Women’s teams from Jackson State and Roane State will play-in at 10 a.m. on May 6, while Columbia State and Southwest Tennessee have play-ins scheduled for 12:30 p.m. For the men, teams from Jackson State and Southwest Tennessee play-in at noon on May 6, while Chattanooga State and Roane State face off at 3 p.m.
