ChattState Holiday Luncheon Benefits the Homeless

Chattanooga, TN --- During the recent annual Employee Holiday Appreciation Lunch on December 12, employees were asked to donate canned food items and/or make donations to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
Nora Burke, food drive collection chair, reports that the college collected 757 pounds of canned goods equaling 630 meals. More than $215 was contributed that provided 1,056 meals. All contributions will allow a total of 1,686 meals to be served to people in need.
The unused hot food from the catered meal for employees was promptly delivered to the Community Kitchen where they put it to good use providing a hot meal for homeless people.
Chattanooga State will be closed for the holidays beginning December 24 and reopen on January 2. Classes begin January 16.
