Chattanooga Transportation Club funds Commercial Truck Driving Scholarship at Chattanooga State

Chattanooga, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Transportation Club recently presented a gift of $1,200 to the Chattanooga State Foundation to fund a Commercial Truck Driving Scholarship.

The gift will be used to establish the Chattanooga Transportation Club Commercial Truck Driving Scholarship. The gift was presented to Don Hunt, coordinator of the Tennessee Technology Center’s commercial truck driving program at Chattanooga State Community College. Bruce Trantham, president of the Chattanooga Transportation Club presented the gift at the club’s recent Scholarship & Past Presidents Luncheon held at the Doubletree Hotel. The club signed a commitment to continue funding scholarships of $1,000 per year over a five-year period.

“Truck driving provides career opportunities that are secure and rewarding. Our goal is to support students who want to pursue training and employment in transportation,” says Trantham.

The commercial truck driving program is located in Hixson at 4913 Adams Road. Both day and evening classes are available.
