Chattanooga State hosts “A Slight Discomfort”
September 7, 2011 | | Press Release
Chattanooga State’s Community Health Institute in partnership with the Erlanger Health System present “A Slight Discomfort,” a candid and entertaining presentation based on one man’s personal journey with prostate cancer. This free presentation is scheduled for Thursday, September 8, on the main campus of Chattanooga State.
Written by author Jeff Metcalf and performed by actor Paul Kiernan, “A Slight Discomfort” has toured both the United States and Europe. Due to the adult language and sexual content, the play is recommended for a mature audience. Two performances are planned. The first show is at 12:30 p.m. in the Berry Auditorium located in the Health Science Center. Chattanooga State faculty, students, and the public are encouraged to attend. Erlanger will provide a free box lunch in the lobby beginning at 11:45 a.m.
According to Dr. Nancy Watts, director of Chattanooga State’s Community Health Institute, “Chattanooga State classes are welcome as space allows and with reservations in advance.”
The second performance takes place in C.C. Bond Humanities Auditorium. At 6 p.m., hors d’oeuvres will be served and health information provided prior to the performance, which begins at 7 p.m. To RSVP for the 6 p.m. reception and reserve a seat for the 7 p.m. performance, call Erlanger’s Health Link at 423-778-LINK (5465). Contact Nancy Watts at Nancy.Watts@Chattanoogastate.edu to RSVP for the free box lunch starting at 11:45 a.m. and the 12:30 p.m. performance.
