AT&T Aspire Grant Awarded to ChattState
August 19, 2016 | | Press Release
Students interested in advanced manufacturing, computer science/technology, allied health and other career preparation programs utilizing advanced technology will have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship provided through the AT&T Aspire Grant this fall. The $5,000 grant will provide support for up to $1,000 per student.
According to TBR Vice Chancellor, Dr. Warren Nichols, students will not have been eligible for the Reconnect + Grant due to a lack of total semester hours accumulated toward the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. The grant focuses on non-traditional, underserved students who are defined by the U.S. Department of Labor as racial and ethnic minorities, low-income, and underrepresented genders in programs of study leading to non-traditional occupations.
Use of funds can be applied, but are not limited to: tuition, textbooks, transportation to and from class, child support while in class, and industry-recognized certification assessment fees, such as Cisco, A+, Siemens level I, FANUC, etc.
For more information, or to apply for the AT&T Aspire Grant, please contact the dean or department head in your major.
