4-Day Limited Residential Contractor Licensing Class Offered

A 30-hour Limited Residential Contractor Licensing class will be offered for four consectutive days, September 21-22-23-24, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The class, offered through Chattanooga State’s Economic and Community Education Division, will be held on the main campus of Chattanooga State, 4501 Amnicola Highway. Cost is $449 and class size is limited to 20 students.

The course includes the license application process, international building codes, an introduction to Tennessee construction laws, legal and financial issues, accounting practices, loans, liens, and insurance.

Participants will learn to read blueprints, build to specifications and adhere to codes and regulations.

Successful completion of this class exempts applicants from taking the contractor-licensing exam if they want to obtain a limited residential contractor license (BC-A/r). Upon completion of the course, the individuals will have basic knowledge to own and operate a small construction company.
