CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Chattanooga State Community College plans to host its alumni on Nov. 29, 2023, welcoming them back to campus with a reception and presentation honoring graduates throughout the college's nearly 60-year history.

Alumni will gather to enjoy light refreshments from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Faculty Staff Dining Room on ChattState’s campus (OMNI Building, Room 124). Attendees must RSVP online by Nov. 22.

Following the Alumni Reception, the festivities will shift to the gymnasium, where, between the women's and men's basketball games, the college will recognize its ChattState Royal Homecoming Court. Alumni Association Board president Dennis Tumlin will then take to the floor to announce plans to establish an alumni awards program and recognize members of the Half Century Alumni Club.

"I'm thrilled to announce our plans for an alumni awards program and to recognize the outstanding members of our Half Century Alumni Club," Tumlin said. "It's a testament to the enduring spirit of the ChattState community, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with our alumni at the upcoming homecoming event."

ChattState’s Student Experience Office organized three days of homecoming festivities leading up to the Tigers taking on the Motlow Bucks on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 29.

On Monday, Nov. 27, the Homecoming Court will be announced in the Main Café at 11:30 a.m. Students can start voting for the Royals immediately after the presentation.

On Tuesday, students are encouraged to wear blue and orange throughout the day to show off their ChattState school spirit. Participants will Paint the Rock at 10 a.m., and a pep rally introducing the men’s and women’s basketball teams will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the amphitheater.

On Wednesday, homecoming revelers will kick off game day at 10:30 a.m. with a parade. After the parade ends, Tigers fans will gather in the McCormick Center parking lot for a homecoming tailgate.

The Women’s Basketball Team will take on the Bucks starting at 5:30 p.m., and the men’s team will take to the court at 7:30 p.m. A homecoming ceremony, including recognition of the ChattState Royals and an Alumni Board presentation, will be held between games.
