Message to the Counselors:

Thank you for encouraging your students to take Dual Enrollment courses at Chattanooga State Community College! Our goal is to meet the needs of each student, counselor, and school.

 

Student Eligibility:

The ideal dual enrollment student is a mature, responsible student who is college-level according to standardized test scores.

Registering For Class with Dynamic Forms:

  • Students request courses through Dynamic Forms. The request first goes to the parent for a parent signature. Next, the school counselor gets the request from dynamic forms to approve.
  • If something is incorrect, make notes in the counselor notes section. Only reject the form if the student cannot take any DE courses.

Dual Enrollment Grant Information:

  • Students register for DEG here: www.tn.gov/collegepays/tsac-student-portal.html
  • The DEG is available for any high school Junior or Senior with legal residence in the state of Tennessee for at least a year.
  • In order to continue using the DEG, students must maintain a college GPA of 2.75.
  • The DEG funds are applied for 1 course per semester.
  • The Enhanced Grant will allow students to use DEG funding for 2 classes in one semester. In order to qualify for Enhanced Grant, students must have a 3.0 GPA or a 21 ACT composite score.
  • TSAC Phone Number: 1-800-342-1663 Students must call to correct mistakes or rest the password for their account or grant application
  • Students must apply every year, but funding does not start over every year.

April: All Student Paperwork Due

  • Students completing all paperwork early will receive a prize!

May:  Counselor provides draft rosters for Fall satellite courses

June: Registration complete

December: Registration complete

July/August: EC sends rosters to school counselor to verify (please double check for accuracy)
