January 28, 2021

Dear Chattanooga State Family,

It appears the cold weather is back after a couple of warm days—I hope you were able to take advantage of the warmth and get outside for a little bit. The semester is well underway, and it is my hope that you see the promise of spring around the corner.  Also, we are seeing reports that the number of new COVID-19 cases is decreasing. Also, we know that the Health Department and healthcare providers are working diligently to administer the COVID-19 vaccination. It is my hope that we will be back on campus for the fall 2021 semester. But for now, let’s continue to do our part to reduce the spread by wearing our masks, practicing social distancing, washing your hands, and staying home if you are sick.

If you need help, be sure to reach out to your instructor or to anyone of the campus resources listed below. We are all here for your success.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Ashford, Ed.D.

All Fees Must be Paid by February 1 & Disbursement of Excess Funds

All outstanding fees must be paid by February 1. DISBURSEMENT is actually the release of your scholarship, grant, and loan funds to the Bursar, who applies these funds to your account balance. In most cases, your financial aid funds pay towards your tuition and fees almost immediately after they are released by the Financial Aid Office. This does not mean that the funds are deposited into your bank account. The Bursar's Office applies your financial aid payments to your account balance, then, if you have excess funds left over, they issue a refund. The official disbursement (release) date is Tuesday, February 2. All the offices on campus are hoping to have all processing done quickly so that refunds can go out that week.

Bookstore Access

If you need to come to campus for books, make an appointment with the bookstore.  You will receive the daily password. Complete the VISITOR health screener using the password (provided by the bookstore) on the day you are coming.

Health Screening Questionnaire

If you need to come to campus, you must complete the required health screening questionnaire. The questionnaire must be completed every day and by every individual coming to campus, including multi-passenger vehicles. Every passenger in a vehicle must complete the questionnaire.

The purpose of this series is to bring in and promote African American arts and culture on ChSCC campus throughout the academic year.
