Artist Statement:
Through my sculpture I explore the synthesis of line, negative shape, mass, and stability. I feel my sculpture remains simplistic, although there is a complexity contained within the struggle of weight and balance. This combination evokes a feeling of tension and suggests utility. Each form is tied together by the uncertainty they suggest. This ambiguity is my persistence of privacy. My industrial appearance is related to my appreciation of technical skills needed to engineer machinery. Though my work is not solely based on machinery, I derive my ideas from stimulating forms within it. This is evident in the execution, and the processes used to create specific forms.
