Coronavirus Updates - April 21, 2020

coronavirus info for webDear Chattanooga State Community, As we progress through the end of the spring 2020 semester, we have been asked to start planning for a return to campus. As we do that, we will continue to provide you with updated information and address your concerns. I expect that the return to campus planning and implementation will present many questions just like the transition to online working and learning did. So, I ask that you continue to be flexible as we move forward in the coming weeks.

Return-to-Campus Planning

Following Governor Lee’s announcement relative to expiring the shelter-at-home order effective April 30, TBR asked all institutions to develop a phased-in plan for employees to return to campus beginning as early as May 4. Governor Lee’s announcement does not apply to several counties including Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, Madison, Shelby, and Sullivan counties. Given Hamilton County is excluded from Governor Lee’s announcement, our return-to-campus planning will be guided by our local city guidelines, local health department, and the CDC. We will continue to share information with you as it becomes available.

The return to campus planning has no impact on the previously communicated changes to the spring and summer terms. The remainder of the spring semester and at least the first summer term will continue to be taught in an online format.
