As a first generation college student, Nancy Schurr, admits she made some missteps. Her #1 advice to first generation students would be, “if you ever have a question, ask that question.” Nancy earned her Ph.D. in 19th century American history from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and is currently an associate professor of history at Chattanooga State.
