Pharmacy Technology - Application Checklist

Use this Pharmacy Technician application checklist as a guide for successfully completing the application process for the college and the Pharmacy Technology programs.

Students are encouraged to apply early, as the program is filled on a Rolling Admission basis. This means that applications are reviewed upon receipt, interviews are scheduled until the class has been filled.

Acceptance is competitive, and offered on a rolling admission basis until class is full. Preference is given to qualified early applicants.

STEP 1: Complete Chattanooga State Community College Enrollment

If you are not a current student at Chattanooga State, please complete a college application. Declare Pre-Allied Health University Parallel as major.
Submit all official transcripts, proof of citizenship, etc.
Testing (if applicable)
Orientation (if applicable)

STEP 3: Pharmacy Technology Admission Process

In order to be included in the applicant pool for Pharmacy Technology, applicants must:

  • Demonstrate English language proficiency including reading, writing and speaking.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform at college level English and Reading courses with a minimum grade of “C”, or through the ACT, SAT, or college entrance test.
  • Math requirement: College level (preferred)
  • Copy of 2 reference letters from 2 individuals who have known you well on a professional or educational basis.

Students who have completed the 16-hour Entry-Level Pharmacy Technology certificate can seamlessly progress into the Advanced Pharmacy Technology Technical Certificate Program, which includes didactic, simulation, and experiential coursework. The Advanced Pharmacy Technology Certificate Program consist of one additional semester after the Entry Level program and can be completed in two semesters

Notes: Competitive applicants will be invited for an interview, which you should dress professionally for interview.

Selected applicants must attend program orientation prior to registering for Pharmacy Technology classes. Dates will be announced.
