Dr. Caitlin Jones is an American percussionist who performs as a marimba soloist and as a member of the Harnsberger/Jones Duo. She is a proponent for the advancement of solo and duo marimba repertoire and focuses on bringing new music to a variety of audiences. In 2018, Caitlin was the marimba soloist for the American premiere of Roumen Boyadjieff, Jr.’s Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra with the Cleveland Orchestra of Tennessee. Most recently, she performed this work with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra (Anderson, Indiana) in February 2025. In October 2025, she performed the marimba masterwork Thinking Songs by Lukas Ligeti on two portrait festivals of Ligeti’s works held in Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary, which marked her international solo debut. Her YouTube channel focuses on solo percussion and chamber music and has amassed over 450,000 views. Caitlin was noted as an “Emerging Leader” by the Percussive Arts Society in 2016 and made her debut performance at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in 2019. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida, Master of Music from Lee University, and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of South Carolina. Caitlin is currently endorsed by Malletech Instruments and Grover Pro Percussion. She frequently plays in the percussion section of the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra and teaches in the percussion areas at Chattanooga State Community College and Lee University.
