Early Childhood Education (from Birth - 5 Years Old)

The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree prepares students for a career in child care and early childhood education. This degree meets many state and federal programs’ requirements for early childhood professionals, both in the classroom and in leadership positions. Graduates from this program will master the Program Outcomes, and may also choose to pursue a Bachelors degree in non-licensure programs, such as Child & Family Studies or Early Care & Education.

Program Length

All classes required to obtain the Technical Certificates also count towards, and are embedded within, the larger Early Childhood Education A.A.S. degree.

  • Basic Technical Certificate = 12 required credit hours.
    (This means that full-time enrollment lasts 1 academic semester.)
     
  • Technical Certificate = 24 required credit hours.
    (This means that full-time enrollment lasts 2 academic semesters.)
     
  • A.A.S. Degree = 61 required credit hours.
    (This means that full-time enrollment lasts 2 academic years.)
